Humanities explores four themes, one per quarter, that address the concept of power. During fourth quarter we focus on technology and its impact on power. From the invention of television to the digital divide today, students will examine the history and net effect of technology and globalization. Literary selections to highlight these themes include The Giver, Welcome to the Monkey House and a variety of science fiction short stories. Students will continue to polish their reading, writing, speaking, and research skills through a variety of different activities including the ever-popular Population Project. It’s a full quarter packed with skills, new ideas and paradigm shifts, so hang on to your keyboards and away we go! Below are materials we will use during the quarter.
